Allez x Stargate

TL;DR

Allez Labs proposes to build the Stargate Compass, a comprehensive data dashboard for the Stargate DAO. This tool will provide multi-chain insights, enhancing decision-making and transparency for the Stargate community. The dashboard will cover analytics of Usage, Revenue & Incentives, and Treasury.

There are two options:

  • a Lite version covering 10 major chains (~96% of transactions),
  • and an Absolute version covering all 15 supported chains.

Both include full metrics coverage and a year-long maintenance plan. Leveraging our DeFi expertise, Allez offers a full-service solution including development, deployment, followed by ongoing analysis and support.

Goal

As per RFP Request: Comprehensive Data Dashboard, the objective is a comprehensive data dashboard for the Stargate DAO, that provides actionable insights and visualizations to support informed decision-making, assess protocol performance, and enhance transparency for the Stargate community.

Allez Labs brings together a wide array of expertise in DeFi analytics, risk management and traditional finance.

We focus on quantitative analysis and practical applications of DeFi research, building solutions openly to ensure users and builders can access and understand critical information for decision-making.

Our track record includes risk and strategy for the biggest DeFi protocols, including Kamino, Aave, Spark and Morpho, as well as dashboard building for the DeFi ecosystem, such as our latest Allez Labs: Kamino fees and rates dashboard or Kamino liquidations dashboard.

Scope of Work

  1. Analysis and Design

    • Review of Stargate Protocol: Understand the protocol’s design, key metrics, contract event emission, and explore data sources.
    • Identify Data Requirements: Determine the specific data points and metrics needed for the dashboard.
    • Dashboard Design: Identify key metrics & structure them to create a user-friendly and intuitive layout.

  2. Data Pipeline

    • Create Data Pipeline: Develop, implement and open source an ETL pipeline to capture relevant events and transactions on the various blockchains which Stargate incorporates.
    • Construct relevant metrics from the events emitted, listed below.

  3. Build and Deploy Dashboard Beta

    • Build a front end for users to easily access and understand key metrics of the Stargate protocol.
    • Ongoing updates & conversations (Forum, Telegram, Meetings) to ensure the dashboard meets the Stargate DAO and team’s needs.

  4. Final Deployment & Comms

    • Improve Dashboard: Implement feedback on dashboard.
    • User Guide: Documentation for using the dashboard and how each metric is calculated. A Q&A / feedback session on how to use the dashboard.
    • Promotion: Explain the dashboard and share findings on the forum, blog posts and social media.

  5. Year Long Maintenance and Update Plan

    • Monthly forum updates on key metrics evolution
    • Technical Maintenance
      • Maintenance of the dashboard, incorporating any necessary fixes
      • Addition of other networks
    • Quarterly review meetings to ensure the dashboard meets the need of the DAO

Included Chains

Stargate is operating on many chains, the volume per chain follows a power law distribution with a minority of the chains covered driving a majority of the volume. Moreover, most of the more exotic chains are not covered by any of the major RPC providers (Alchemy, Infura, Chainstack, Quicknode, Helius).

Two options for flexible pricing:

Lite

Coverage of Stargate activity on the following chains which amounts to ~96% of Stargate bridge source transactions: Arbitrum, Base, Optimism, Scroll, Linea, BNB, Taiko, Polygon, Ethereum, Mantle.

This option does not include any Hydra related metrics as it covers no Hydra chains, except Taiko according to the docs.

Absolute

Coverage of Stargate bridge activity across all chains listed as supported networks in the V2 developer docs: Ethereum, Arbitrum, Linea, Optimism, Base, BNB, Scroll, Polygon, Avalanche, SEI, Kava, Mantle, Aurora, Fantom, Metis.

Timeline: ~16 weeks

  • 2 Weeks: Analysis of the Stargate protocol and spec of the dashboard

  • 3 Weeks: Data pipeline

  • 8 Weeks: Deploy dashboard beta

  • 3 Weeks: Final deployment & Communications

Deliverables:

1. Interactive Web-based Dashboard

  • User-friendly interface with responsive design
  • Customizable views and date ranges

2. Year Long Maintenance and Update Plan

  • Monthly forum updates on key metrics evolution
  • Maintenance of the dashboard, incorporating any necessary fixes
  • Quarterly review meetings to ensure the dashboard meets the need of the DAO
  • Under the lite plan:
    • Maintenance of the dashboard, underlying ETL processes and data transformations.
    • Addition of other networks if they contribute a meaningful amount of messages (at least 1 month average of >300/day or >4% of $ volume)
  • Under the absolute plan:
    • Maintenance of the dashboard, underlying ETL processes and data transformations.
    • Addition of all integrated networks (up to 5 additional)

Cost:

Lite Option: $110k

  • Interactive Web-based Dashboard $90k - 1/3 upfront, 2/3 on completion
  • Annual Maintenance and Update Plan $20k streamed linearly upon delivery

Absolute Option: $150k

  • Interactive Web-based Dashboard $120k - 1/3 upfront, 2/3 on completion
  • Annual Maintenance and Update Plan $30k streamed linearly upon delivery

Hi, aside from those chains, wonder if it’s possible to support all future Hydra chains?

Right now Stargate is rapidly expanding to other chains with Hydra assets, and it’s important for us to be able to monitor those as well.

Thanks for your question. We understand the importance of monitoring Hydra chains as Stargate expands. While it’s challenging to commit to an infinite number of chains, we’re definitely dedicated to supporting as many Hydra chains and assets as possible.

Under the Absolute plan, we commit to connecting up to 5 additional networks, covering a total of 20 chains. This gives us flexibility to include new Hydra chains as they become significant.

We’re also exploring the Stargate API as an efficient way to onboard additional networks without deploying our own data infrastructure for each, which could allow us to cover more chains more quickly. If the API is sufficient, we could adapt our strategy to integrate all networks on the API, and only create an independent data infrastructure for networks that reach a certain threshold of overall activity.

This would focus resources where they’re most needed while maintaining full coverage. We are here to provide comprehensive coverage that evolves alongside Stargate’s expansion and needs.
